Borderlands 3 on Xbox Series X and Playstation 5

Now that the Xbox Series X is here, we can finally compare the graphics settings for Borderlands 3. It’s safe to say that both consoles provide a great performance increase over last gen. In my opinion, the XBX has a slight lead in a head to head competition. PS5 is handicapped by limited HDMI bandwidth and also does not (yet) support Variable Refresh Rate. XBX supports full HDMI bandwidth and VRR.

On both consoles, Resolution mode targets 4K and 60 FPS. The Performance mode then targets 120 FPS, but at reduced resolution. According to Digital Foundry, Performance mode uses 1080p graphics to achieve the higher frame rate. Check out the videos below for more info.
